Social Justice Response Team


Mission 

In agreement with CLPA’s mission statement, the SJRT is dedicated to bringing awareness to the sociopolitical systems that impact the BIPOC/Latinx community, while creating and promoting avenues for mental health clinicians to learn, advocate for, and disseminate resources to the community. A key goal of the SJRT is to inform and guide the CLPA Leadership Team on important social issues and ways to respond to these issues as an organization.

Goals

 Respond quickly to social justice issues as they arise to bring awareness to injustices.  


 Develop ongoing educational resources on how to clinicians can manage these injustices and help advocate for clients 


 Create resources for the BIPOC/Latinx community


 Inform and guide the CLPA Leadership Team on matters of social justice important to the organization

Current SJRT areas of focus are:


Promoting Mental and Physical Health in BIPOC communities


Improving Pathways to Higher Education for BIPOC students


Advocacy for Latinx Immigrants


Addressing Health Disparities in BIPOC communities
